Aligning the Chakra

As we enter yet another transition back to some semblance of normalcy, I hope you are forging your new path forward with a higher level of awareness and ease in doing things differently. And I hope by implementing the practice of the whole body yes' you are able to read and trust what your body is telling you and allow it to lead the way.

Throughout my weekly guided breathwork and meditation sessions we have worked with clearing and balancing the different chakras in our body. Chakras are energetic points in our body that affect different aspects of our emotional and physical self. A couple of weeks ago we worked with balancing our throat chakra which is our center of communication and one of the most powerful yet vulnerable of the seven chakras. When in balance, this 5th chakra helps us communicate our truth clearly. When out of balance, we tend to ignore our inner voice and have fear around expressing ourselves and speaking our truth. And for me, true harmony comes when what I think, what I feel and what I say are all in alignment.

When we practice yoga, whether we know it or not, we create a clearing and opening in the subtle and energetic body where our chakras reside. As we practice, we feel a sense of wholeness and harmony in our systems that goes beyond verbal expression. And when we consciously focus on each chakra and bring a heightened sense of awareness to each one, we have the potential to consciously repattern old behaviors and create intentional shifts in our life. This is where yoga can have the most profound effect on our lives.
